In January 2026, wholesale electricity and gas prices have continued to be volatile. We have seen significant daily and weekly price movements, both upward and downward. However the month has ended with significant increases for some wholesale periods. We continue to monitor these changes closely on behalf of our clients and provide as much communication as possible.

How could further increases effect your business energy costs?

Further increases in wholesale energy prices could lead to higher business energy costs, particularly when existing contracts come to an end or where prices are linked to market movements.

Rising costs may impact budgeting, cash flow and overall operating expenses, making it more challenging for businesses to plan with certainty.

This highlights the importance of reviewing energy strategies regularly, considering contract options carefully, and staying informed about market developments to help manage potential cost pressures.
